We Have Secured Our Google Name Space! “BridgetMoranPlace@gmail.com””

WE ARE NOW ON THE MAP FOR THE WHOLE WORLD TO KNOW

We now qualify as a “business” (non profit org) with Google!

Following our strategic initiative to secure our digital identity, we are proud to announce that the Bridget Moran Place Tenants Association (BMPTA) has successfully secured our official Google Name Space: BridgetMoranPlace@gmail.com. This critical step allows us to be formally recognized as a non-profit business entity by Google and reclaim the digital footprint of our home at 668 Powell Street.

In today’s digital landscape, owning and controlling our “Brand” is not merely a matter of identity; it is a vital component of crafting our own narrative and protecting our collective voice. By securing this namespace, we are now in the process of updating Google Maps to officially display our community as “Bridget Moran Place Tenants Association” – BMPTA-YVR.

For nearly a quarter of a century—since 2001—the owner-operators and partners associated with the BMP-668 operating agreement had every opportunity to claim this digital territory. They could have utilized this space to provide tangible visibility and benefits to the residents they serve. However, that is not the path they chose.

For 25 years, organizations such as NHS and RainCity demonstrated a profound lack of foresight. Despite their contractual and fiduciary duties to our community, they failed to secure even this basic asset—leaving our location undefined in the digital world.

Where others saw no value, the BMPTA recognized a fundamental responsibility. Their failure in stewardship has become our opportunity for leadership. In lawful due course, we have stepped in to claim the ownership and stewardship that our community deserves. We are currently aiming to finalize the business video verification process to cement our ownership of the 668 Powell Street location profile.

While some might suggest this oversight was merely a mistake, the reality is far more serious: this lapse is a stark indicator of a systemic history of inadequate stewardship dating back nearly two decades.

The BMPTA is committed to ensuring that our digital presence is used as it should have been all along—as a tool for empowerment, transparency, and resident-focused advocacy.
